GREAT WEEKEND

Turned out to be a great weekend. Friday we got our new treadmill but didn't have time to set it up before our soccer game which we lost. What a bummer. Saturday Randy and I went to breakfast and then came home and I mostly watched while Randy set up the treadmill. We both tried it out just a little but then had to get ready for his company Christmas party.
We headed down to Salt Lake for the night. Randy was able to get a good deal on a room at the Sheraton where the party was being held. Enjoyed the food and company at dinner and both of us enjoyed having a few drinks without having to worry about driving home after. Then we did some dancing after the dinner. I wish they would have had dancing for longer.
Next morning we went for breakfast again and then headed home. We both ran on the treadmill. I think I will really like it. It has been a while since I ran so I was worn out after just a mile. Went to see my dad later with my mom and brother and then I stopped and brought dinner home and just cross-stitched the rest of the night while Randy watched football.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Wow what a great weekend.
Thursday we went up to Camp Utaba with my John and my mom for Thanksgiving dinner. We saw wild turkey's on the way home. Then we headed for Randy's Uncle Jim and Aunt Lynn's house for dessert. After that we ran Sophie home and decided to drop by Walmart just to see what was going on. Randy, Garrison and I ended up staying till about 1:30 in the morning. We were able to get some good deals and are done shopping for the kids for Christmas.
Friday Randy had to go to work and then I rode the front runner down to Salt Lake so we could go to the Utah Football game. Guess we should have just stayed home. It was cold and windy and the Utes did not play well and lost. Randy and I had two soccer games later that night and we lost both of those too.
Saturday Randy worked out in the yard moving the trailers around so he will be able to get to the snow mobile trailer easy and I worked on getting the basement cleaned up. We bought a treadmill and need to make room for it.
Yesterday we drove down to Cabella's with John. He wanted to look at the guns for duck hunting. We spent most of the day down there and tried out the grill. We all had Chicken sandwiches which were pretty good.
Hope everyone else had a great weekend and Thanksgiving.

Erin

It is Erin's 18th Birthday today. How did that happen so fast. I am not ready for her to be a grown up. She is still my little girl.
On Tuesday my family and Randy's family went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner for Erin. I think she got lots of cards with money in them. The best kind of present as far as she is concerned. She is trying to save up for a trip to see her best friend Kelsey over Spring break in Texas so that will help out a lot. From me and Randy and her dad we gave her a laptop computer. She will need it when she goes off to college. As of right now she is set on going to Dixie. Somewhere warm and away from home.

Night of the Running Dead

Well last weekend Randy and I ran in the Night of the Running Dead 5k and Austin, Erin, Jeff, and Brittney walked in the one mile creep and crawl. It was all to benefit the Huntsman Cancer Institute. They were also trying to beat the Guiness Book of World Records for most Zombies in one place but didn't get enough people. We were at the Utah State Fair Park most of the day for the event. They had different booths and food. It was kinda fun but the actuall walk and run were very disorganized. They did not have the route set up very good and the kids ended up walking less than a mile and we ended up running more than a 5K. I heard someone say it was only the second year they were doing it so I guess it will get better each year but I am not sure we will do it again. It was the most expensive 5K we have done so far. After the race we went to visit Randy's parents then we headed over to his Uncle Greg's house for his annual Halloween party. Then we had to head back up to Ogden for a soccer game.
Turned out to be a great day.

Richfield 2011

Had a great time in Richfield this weekend. We got to spend two days riding the Piute trail. We got there Thursday night and decided to just veg.  We were really roughing it.  Both of us playing on our computers and watching TV.  The KOA was completely booked.  We had the very last spot.  There was a ATV Jamboree going on is why it was so busy.  But the trails were surprisingly empty.  The first day we took a 6 hours drive.  Saw cows and I saw one dear and Randy spotted a squirrel and a little rattlesnake.  The second day we actually rode to Kanosh but there was no where to eat so we just got some gas then headed back. Found a real nice campground that was completely empty to eat our lunch. We saw more cows and saw a lot of deer.  It is hard to see in the pictures but Randy got lots of pictures of them.
I told Randy we need to make this a annual event.

LABOR DAY 2011

Had a great time camping up in the Uinta mountains with Randy, my mom, my brother and his friends over Labor Day Weekend. Randy and I actually took Thursday and Friday off but didn't take off until Friday night. We took the dogs for a walk on Thursday morning and then just worked on the getting the trailer ready. Thursday night we drove down early to Salt Lake and had a bite to eat before going to the first home game for the Utah Utes. They pulled off the win. It was fun to be there.
On Friday we finished getting the trailer ready and headed out after John got home. We got to the campsite real late that night so we pretty much just sat around the camp fire for a bit and then went to bed.
Saturday we went fishing in a creek and Randy, my mom and brother got one. I didn't fish. And on Sunday we went to a lake and me and Randy caught one. We also took a ride on the four-wheeler's. But mostly we just kinda hung out. The weather was really great and I wish we could have stayed longer. Didn't get a lot of pics but a few.

Happy Birthday Randy

Today is Randy's 47th birthday. He sure doesn't look it.
Last night we went to dinner and a movie. A rare night without having a soccer game.
This morning I surprised him with a birthday breakfast. His parents, my mom, my brother and family, my kids and Erin's boyfriend Jeff were all able to be there. I think I surprised him. I had the kids stepsister make him a birthday cake that was of Utah Utes. It turned out so well. Haven't had a chance to try it yet and see how it tastes. Tonight we have a soccer game. Hope we win as a birthday present to him.

Randy you are such a great guy I hope you have a wonderful day.

Sewing Project

Sophie and I created a new bag for her. She wanted a bag type purse kinda like the one that Erin has so we tried to make up a pattern that matched it. Our final design did not actually turn out like we planned but we both thought it turned out well any way. We had some material that we didn't end up using so Sophie made a little pillow out of it. She said it would be a travel pillow to keep in the bag and pull out when she is driving home with her dad and gets tired. It was great getting to spend the time together and creating something new.

Roy City Days 5k

So John, Randy and I did another 5k for the Roy City Days. John did really great 27 minutes and something seconds. Randy did about the same as last time at 30 min and something seconds. And I was actually worse at 35 minutes and something seconds. But we did it and we got a cool shirt.
Randy and I kinda have an excuse. We had two soccer games at 9:30 and 10:30 the night before so we didn't get a lot of sleep.
But on to the next one. There is a Zombie/Human 5k in October that we are probably going to do. You can be a human or a zombie and the humans get a 2 min head start. I think I will be a zombie cause I will be embarrassed to be a human and have zombie's passing me.

Clinton City Heritage Days

Well we had a great time last Saturday. It was Clinton City Heritage days. Randy, John and I signed up for the 5k run on Saturday morning. John got came in at 31+, Randy came in at 32+ and I came in at 34+. We all got cool shirts and bags. Erin did the chalk art festival for the second year and she got a cool bag as well. She and Sophie and some of her friends did the art work.
Austin, John and I went over to put out blankets for the fireworks and decided to get something to eat and people watch. Randy decided to come over and join us.After Erin got home from work later that day she, Austin, Sophie and Garrison all went over to the carnival to ride the rides. Randy and I had a soccer game and met up with them after. We wandered around the Carnival for a bit and then headed over to the blankets we put out earlier to watch the fireworks. They were not quite as good as the Clearfield fireworks on 4Th of July but there were some really cool ones. And we were so close to where they were going off that we could see the hot ashes coming down over the top of us. Fortunately they all went over our heads but we did see one guy smack one with his hat away from his family.
Looking forward to doing it again next year

Post Falls Trip

My mom, Erin and I drove up to Post Falls, Idaho for a family reunion with her family. We drove to Pendleton, Oregon the first night. We found a riverside walk that was really something. The next day we drove up thru Washington and over to Post Falls. We stayed at the Ross Point Baptist Camp. It was absolutely beautiful there. We had our own building for use. A great big hall with 6 rooms surrounding it. Outside was a short walk to the Spokane river. There was lots to do too. They have mini-golf, tether ball, volleyball, baskteball, and when the water is high enough there are a lot of things to do on the river.
We drove to Cabellas too check it out. I think the one in Utah is a lot bigger. We also tried to drive to Coeur d’Alene but the Ironman competition was in progress (the bike portion) and we couldn't get to downtown. Erin and I took off one night and went to watch a movie.
On the way home we drove the other way and went thru Montana. It was beautiful country. We had such a great time and it was a bummer to have to come home to the hot and work. But I missed my hubby and was sure glad to see him. Hopefully he will be able to come with me next year.

BUSY BUSY

It was a very busy weekend.
Randy and Garrison went camping with his cousin Sandy at the Sand Dunes and they had a great time. I had a soccer tournament so I didn't go. Had a soccer game Friday night then went out for ice cream with Erin. On Saturday played two games in the tournament and then hung out at John's house with Erin for a while. They were having a yard sale. Then I was off to soccer again. Sunday Erin and I went to breakfast and then we went on a bike ride with Jackie, Rebecca and John. It started raining on us on the way home. Went to see my dad with John later and then just vegged for the rest of the night.

Happy Memorial Day

Hope everyone had a great weekend. We sure did.
Our original plan was to go camping with some people from Randy's work but because the weather was not supposed to be good we decided not to go. So glad we didn't since it rained and hailed most of the weekend.
Randy had taken Friday off and I left early but since we didn't go camping we decided to drive up to Malad to get lottery tickets. When we got back we went running since we didn't have any soccer games over the weekend. Then Randy bbq'd hamburgers for us.
Saturday we went for a walk instead of running. My mom came over and we got to see her new car. She got a Chevy Malibu and it is very very nice. We are going to drive it when we go up to coeur d'alene at the end of June for her family reunion. We went Saturday night to see the new Pirate's movie. It was pretty good.
On Sunday Erin and I did a bunch of errands in the morning and then Randy and I went to movies again with Erin and her boyfriend Jeff. We went to see Bridesmaids. It wasn't exactly what I was expecting but it was cute. But a little raunchy. I know Erin is old enough for rated R movies but I was a little embarrassed to be with her watching some of those scenes.
On Monday Randy and I went running again and then we had lunch with my mom and brother. We went to see my dad after lunch but he was sleeping and didn't seem to want to wake up so we didn't stay long. I spent the rest of the day vegging and Randy worked on some new projects for the trailer.
We were hoping to win the lottery and not have to go to work today. But oh well. Maybe next time.

Happy 5th Anniversary

Today is Randy and my 5th Anniversary. So far it have been a pretty good day. Haven't done a whole lot. I have done some yard work and Randy is working on his car and he is helping the neighbor with some stuff. But we took Friday off and on Thursday night we drove to Wendover for the night. We stopped in Salt Lake at the Texas Roadhouse on the way down for dinner. Randy brought me chocolate covered grapes and a new ring. He is just so sweet. And if you have never tried chocolate covered grapes you are missing out. They are so so yummy. We stayed most of the day on Friday gambling and Randy won enough to come home with more than he took. I wasn't as lucky. I lost about $60. We stopped in Salt Lake again on the way home and went to the Spaghetti Factory for dinner. We got home just in time to head out for our two soccer games.

Looking forward to another 5, 10, 15, 20 years with Randy. Things have been going really well for us right now and I am in such a happy place.

5K - Happy Mothers Day

Well Randy, Sophie and I completed a 5k yesterday. It was a fundraiser for her school PTA. There were 250 people who signed up. It was our first official 5K. Randy was able to complete it in just over 34 minutes and Sophie and I completed it in just over 36 minutes. We all got t-shirts and Sophie and Randy both won a day pass to West Valley Fitness Center. Randy gave his to Sophie so she and a friend could go
Randy and I had two soccer games later as well. We were both worn out but did quite well I think. We won the first one and tied the second. In between games there was a game and one the the teams didn't show up so they asked our team to stay and scrimmage. I really didn't want too but Randy did it so he ended up playing 3 games total. Needless to say we are pretty worn out today.
I asked him yesterday when he wanted to do another 5K and he thought I was being funny. But today he asked when another one was. So I think we will be trying to do one once a month and see if our times improve.

Also wanted to tell everyone Happy Mother's Day. Hope you all have a wonderful day. I have had a great weekend. Randy sent me flowers to work on Friday and we went to dinner and a movie with Sophie and Erin. Saturday we took Randy's kids over to see his mom and then Randy, Garrison and I went out of lunch. Today we went to breakfast with Erin and Austin and are going to dinner with my mom and brother and Austin and Erin later tonight.

MOAB

Randy, Garrison, Sophie and I went to Moab last weekend. We took off on Thursday and came home on Sunday. We camped with Randy's cousin Sandy and her boyfriend Ryan and her daughter Sierra. His Uncle Greg and Aunt Cindy. His cousin Tom and his son Chandler. His Uncle Robert and Aunt Ro. And his cousin Steve and his daughter Kristen and friends of theirs Shelly her daughter Kelsey and another friend Shayla so there was a pretty big group of us.

We got there late the first night so didn't do much except stand around the campfire. And that didn't last long for me because it was really windy. Day two was windy but we went for about a 3 hour drive on the four-wheelers with Ryan and Sierra. When we got back we went into Moab and ate dinner because it was too windy to bbq. There was a car show going on for the weekend so we got to see a lot of cool cars dragging the main street.

Saturday we went into Arches National Park and we hiked to the Delicate Arch which was about 3 miles round trip. It was so worth the hike. It was amazingly amazing as Erin likes to say. Then we did a very short walk to Sand Dune Arch. Everybody had had enough by then so we headed back to camp. Randy bbq'd and we stood around the camp fire again until we couldn't take the wind anymore.

On Sunday we went for another long four wheel ride with Ryan, Tom, Steve, Shelly, Kristen, Kelsey and Shayla. We saw Gemini bridges and then we drove down under the bridges. We had to hike in quite a while to get under them. It was pretty amazing. We got back to camp and ate a quick meal and got ready to go home. We made it back home late Sunday night. We are still working on emptying out the trailer.

We really enjoyed the trip except for the wind. It would have been a lot lot better without it. I would love to do it again. I enjoyed spending time with Randy's family which I haven't had the opportunity to do a lot of.

On a side note just want to congratulate Erin on getting a job at Syracuse Six movie theater.

New Jammies

Sophie and I made her a pair of new pj bottoms this weekend. We went a couple of weeks ago and got the fabric and other supplies. It was the first official project on my new sewing machine. She said she really like them and I think they turned out pretty good. It took us a while to figure out the instructions but once we got going we did ok. I think we could do them a lot faster next time.
With some of the extra fabric we made a doggie toy for Tazzy. I enjoyed getting to spend that time with Sophie and look forward to doing it again.

Not Much

Not a whole lot of new stuff going on in the Shoop household, but it has been a while since I posted anything so I thought I would today.
Randy and I are still playing soccer on two co-ed teams. Randy just finished up bowling. He came it first for the high score and his team came in first also.
Austin is still working temporarily at Nutraceutical where I work. He is still going to school and has just passed Flux Core certification.
Erin is doing well in school and getting her schedule ready for next year. Can't believe she is going to be a senior.
Garrison is enjoying 7th grade and just got braces.
Sophie is still playing violin. Randy got her a new one for her birthday so we took back the rented one.

(¯`·._.·(¯`·._.· Happy Birthday Austin ·._.·´¯)·._.·´¯)

The big 21. How???? I am pretty sure grandma told you not to turn 21. She wasn't ready yet. I am not ready either.
On the 5th of March we are going to take Austin to Wendover for the day to check out gambling for the first time and maybe a drink or two. Don't worry knowing Austin as I do it is not something he will get addicted too.

I remember when you were just a curly haired little boy. You were full of joy and laughter. You would run up to anyone and just start talking to them. Everyone loved the way you talked. It was so cute.

May the year bring you great things Austin. I love you always.

Valentine's Day♥

Hope everyone had a good Valentines day. I sure did.
My wonderful husband sent me beautiful flowers to work.
Then on top of that he brought me and the kids home chocolate covered raspberries and grapes. They are soooo yummy.
My mom came over for dinner and made some wonderful gravy and then we watched the movie Despicable Me. That is such a cute movie. We watched it on blue ray on our new blue ray disc player with surround sound that Randy and Garrison installed.
Couldn't have asked for a better day.

Randy

Randy got the chance to take off last Friday and go snowmobiling with some friends. Someone took some great pictures of him so here they are.
