Whew!!! What a Weekend

What a busy, busy weekend we had. Lots of stuff happening. Sophie had entered a contest at Randy's credit union and won Raging water tickets. She took some pictures with the nice camera she got for her birthday around the house and made a poster with it. Great Job Sophie.

Friday Randy and I had a soccer game. John was coming to sub so I called my mom to see if she wanted to come watch since she hadn't seen John play in a long time. We didn't win the game but Randy scored a goal. It was awesome. And when we got done playing we thought we were done but apparently our game for the next night had been changed to right after the first game. So my mom watched another game and my brother came and subbed again. It was so hot in the building it was hard to play. We lost that game too. Wish mom could have seen us win. On the way home we stopped at the Clinton Heritage days. Erin had entered into the chalk art drawing and we went to check out her work. I thought she did a great job. She said she was looking forward to doing it again next year.

Saturday morning the cement truck showed up to cement the driveway finally. I think it has been about a month that we have been waiting for it. We wanted to go to the parade but the kids wanted to put their handprints in the cement so we had to wait until they were ready for them to do that and then we went down and caught maybe the last 5 to 10 minutes of the parade. Later on in the day we all went over to the Clinton City Heritage days Carnival. Randy and the kids rode some rides (except Austin, he was at his dads) and then we all got something to eat. We hooked up with my brother and Rebecca and went over to the baseball field where we had brought blankets earlier in the day to watch the fireworks. We had a perfect spot. Nothing to obstruct our views and we could lay back on the hill and watch them. The were fantastic. I love fireworks.

Sunday I mowed the lawn while Randy and his kids worked on cleaning up from the cement being poured. Erin had to work. I went with my brother and mom to see my dad and then Randy, me and his kids went to dinner. I vegged the rest of the day but I think Randy went back out to do some more stuff in the yard.

Hope everyone else had a enjoyable weekend.

Back from Camping

Randy, me and his kids all went camping over the 4th of July. My kids were both working and didn't go with us. We took off on Thursday and got back on Monday late afternoon.

We got up to the camp site that we have used the last two years and no one was using it so we decided to stay there again. We had a little problem though. When Randy pulled in it was really wet and the truck got stuck. I think everyone was a little scared for a bit but Randy used his McGyver skills and got us out. He was really worn out from all the work he had to do to get us out so I just made something inside and we didn't have a camp fire that night.

Friday was windy most of the day and rainy off and on. I don't think I even left the trailer. Garrsion stayed inside most of the day too. Randy and Sophie went looking for frogs and found one but she let it go later. She also caught some tadpoles and let them go too. We did decide to have a camp fire and roasted marshmallows. I brought some strawberry marshmallows and they were really good.

Saturday the weather was better. Randy and Sophie decided to try floating on tubes in the river. Me and Garrison didn't want to get wet. It was driving Izzy crazy. She wanted to be with them but didn't want to get in the water. Garrison and Sophie drove the four-wheelers a bit and Randy and Garrison took a pretty long ride. Randy grilled dinner for us and we had a camp fire again.

Sunday Randy and I took a pretty long ride on the four-wheelers and then came back and got the kids and went for a even longer ride. I think we went about 40 miles. We were all so cold by the time we got back. We had left later in the day and didn't get back until after 8. We saw some snow up where we rode and we saw some deer. Everyone was too cold to have a campfire so we just stayed inside the trailer with the heater going.

Monday we got up and started packing everything up to go home. We were doing pretty good and were in Ogden on our way to fill the truck up with gas before going home when a truck pulled up next to us and let Randy know we had a blown tire on the trailer. So we had to stop on the side of the freeway while Randy changed the tire. Thankfully we were able to get home in time for me to make my soccer game that night.
