Merry Christmas

Hope everyone had a great Christmas. I know we did.

On Friday we had Christmas morning with Austin and Erin. They seemed pretty happy with everything they got. Then we went over to my mom's house and spent some time with her and my Aunt Margaret and Uncle Jim and my brother. After that my kids took off for their dads house and Randy and I went home and finished up some wrapping and then just kinda vegged around. Later that night he went and got his kids.

On Christmas morning Garrison and Sophie opened their presents. Randy seemed to have hit a home run with their gifts this year. They seemed pretty pleased with everything. After that we took off to Salt Lake to Randy's Aunt Ro and Uncle Roberts house. They have a open house Christmas party every year. We hung out there for the afternoon and started to plan a camping trip with his cousins for the spring. That should be fun. After that we took his kids back to their moms and headed back up to my moms. We spent some more time with my family and then headed home. On Sunday we got all the kids back and went to dinner at Marie Calendars with my family so we could have one more get together with my Aunt and Uncle before they left to go back to Houston.

I think I only took like one picture of Austin and Erin and I am not sure if Randy took any of Sophie and Garrison so no pics to post this year.

Las Vegas

So we went to Las Vegas the 20th to the 23rd to watch the Utes play Boise State in a Bowl game. The trip was great except for the game that the Utes lost. They did not play well. I think that was the first bowl game they lost in like 13 bowl games. Bummer.
Other than that the trip was fun though. We went with Randy's parents and sister. It was great getting to spend some time with them. I always enjoy that. Also my Aunt Margaret and Uncle Jim were there at the same time so we got to have breakfast with them Wednesday.
We got in late on Monday night because the roads down to Vegas were really bad. My thanks to my wonderful husband for driving the whole way down. We stayed at Planet Hollywood on the strip and that is where the team was staying. I liked the rooms except for the lighting was a little dark. We had a great view of the Belagio water show from our hotel window. We ended up in the elevator a couple of times with some of the players but were to chicken to ask for pictures.
Tuesday night we went over to Fremont street for the Pep Rally. Both bands were there and the cheerleaders and a few of the players. That was a lot of fun. I think Randy got some pics that I will post later.
Did a little gambling and walked to a few other hotels but it was raining the whole time except for the game so that put a little damper on the whole trip.
But like I said it was pretty fun except for the loss of the game.

Violin Recital

On Wednesday Sophie had a violin recital at her school. She started taking violin at school a few months back. Randy, me, my mom and Randy's parents all went to support her.
She did a great job and plans to continue playing. Randy found a great deal on a violin so she will have her very own instead of renting one.

❃GREAT JOB SOPHIE❃

THANKSGIVING WEEKEND

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving weekend. We sure did. Ate so much on Thursday that I went home sick.
The week didn't start out too good. We had a blizzard Tuesday night that turned out not as bad as the news was predicting but the roads were extremely icy on Wednesday and Austin slid and got in a accident. Everyone was okay Thank God but the Ford Explorer that he bought this summer and that Randy worked so hard on to get running is pretty much totaled.
Thursday was a great day though. Randy and my kids were with their other parents so it was just us two for the weekend. We first went up to Camp Utaba with my brother, mom and her neighbors. I had seconds and knew I shouldn't but it was just so good. We were able to get a lot of leftovers which was nice. Then Randy and I headed down to his Aunt and Uncle's for another dinner. Thank you Jim and Lynn for inviting us over. It was so good I had to eat again. I just can't pass up mashed potatoes and gravy. After dinner and great conversation with Randy's family we headed home.
Friday Randy got up early and went to do some Black Friday shopping. I was still recovering from the day before so I didn't go. We spent the rest of the day doing some errands and just hanging out at home. Had a soccer game that night that we lost. BUMMER.
Saturday was the big BYU/UTAH rivalry game. Penny was sick so Garrison was able to go. We met him and Randy's dad down at the game. It was cold. I think I was wearing three pairs of pants. But it turned out to be a great game. Utah won by one point. We had another soccer game that night and this time we won.
Sunday we didn't do a whole lot. Randy worked outside some and I went to see my dad.
It sure turned out to be a nice 4 days off and I wish it didn't have to end.

Happy 17th

It is Erin's 17th birthday today. How did she get that old already? I am so not ready for that.
We went to dinner last night with Randy's family and mine. Erin also brought her boyfriend Jeff. She loved all the presents she got. She said she had a great party. I hope that today is just as good and that she has a great year. She deserves it.

Happy Halloween

Hope everyone has fun or had fun if you celebrated Halloween last night. We didn't have Sophie and Garrison this year. Austin went out with friends and Erin didn't dress up. We had more trick 0r treaters than ever before tho so that was fun. Randy and I watched the Utah Utes play and handed out candy. Erin, Garrison and Sophie all carved pumpkins.
Garrison, Sophie, Randy and I went to Randy's Uncle Greg's house for a Halloween party last Sunday. They decorate the front yard and you can listen to music that goes with the lights on your car radio. Inside it was all decorated and they had a scavenger hunt for finding candy. His Aunt and Uncle dressed up as The Mad Hatter and the Queen of Hearts. Randy was able to get a few pics of that.

More Pics from Lake Powell

Got some more pictures from Randy's camera from Lake Powell. Tried to upload the video I took of the Roadrunner and the kids on the tube behind the boat but I couldn't get it to load.

Lake Powell 2010

So over UEA weekend we took the kids (except for Austin) in the trailer and went to Lake Powell. We had a great time. Randy's friend Alan from work and his wife Linda came too and brought their boat. The weather was perfect.

Friday we took a really long boat ride to Rainbow Bridge. It was a pretty awesome sight. As Erin said it in the visitor book. Amazingly Amazing. That night we went to the restaurant at the resort. It was way too fancy for us. I know it is going to be too fancy when the salad they bring out looks more like weeds than lettuce. The kids menu had a better selection than the adult menu. I would not do that again.

Saturday Randy, Garrison and Sophie got up early and went fishing with Alan and Linda. They each caught a fish. They were pretty big ones too. While they were gone I was looking out the trailer and there was a Roadrunner sitting outside. I will post the videos but I warn you they are shaky. I am not very good at taking pics or videos. Later that day we went out on the boat again and Randy and the kids took turns riding on a tube on the back of the boat. Erin and Garrison got dumped in and thought it was so funny. They were laughing so hard. Randy and Sophie also took some pictures so I will add a new slide show once I get them.

Sunday we got packed up and came back home. I think everyone had a good time and wants to go again for sure.

Jazz Game

My work gave me front row tickets for the first pre-season game of the Jazz last night. We got to go have dinner in the 100 club suite and then go see the game. At half time we got to go back behind the bleachers and have snacks. It was a lot of fun. Oh and we were on the big screen when they did the kiss cam. What a great date night for free. Randy got a great picture of the tickets so you can see how much they cost. $904 each. CRAZZZZYYY.

Guys & Dolls

I had someone take a picture of our Guys & Dolls coed team for me. This team is in the D league and we are also on a team in the E league. I think we are doing pretty good this session. I think we have won most of our games. We were supposed to do a mean face but I think only me and one other person did it. So that is why I look mad. I know, I know. Some of you are saying looks like a normal face for you. LOL.

42

So I turned 42 today. Wow. How times flies when you are having fun.
The kids baked and decorated a cake for me yesterday. I forgot to take a picture of it before we dug in. But it was beautiful. Randy had my car window's tinted which was really nice. Sophie made me a great card with a penguin kicking a soccer ball. Two of my favorite things. Aunt Margaret and Uncle Jim sent me a very nice bouquet of flowers.
Received lots of Birthday wishes from my Facebook friends. That was really sweet.
We had dinner at Ramblin Roads to celebrate my mom's and my birthday's. Randy's family came up and Irene and France came. I got some really great gifts and I am truly thankful for my family. It turned out to be a great day. Just wish dad could have been there.

Family Fun day

Saturday morning the kids, Randy and I went out to breakfast and then headed over to the Syracuse Family Fun Center. I found a great deal and we were able to get some 3 hour passes for less than half the price. That is the only way we could really afford to take the whole family. We haven't all done something together for a while so it was really nice. We played laser tag, bowled, played arcade games and played a round of mini golf. I liked the bowling the best but I think everyone else but Erin liked the laser tag the best. If I can get some discount tickets again I think we would do it again.

Richfield Camping Trip.

Randy and I went to Richfield over the Labor Day weekend. We stayed at the KOA there. We took the four-wheelers and we were able to drive right out of the campsite to the trails on the mountain. It was such a Awesome trip. We had a blast.
We got there on Friday and took a small ride up the trails a bit. On Saturday we took about a 5 to 6 hour trip. We took a lunch and found a shady spot to eat before heading back to our campsite. We could see the smoke from a fire that must have been pretty big and just starting. Each day the smoke was filling more and more of the sky so it must have been spreading. We were not sure where it was at. Sunday we took a different route and we were gone 7 to 8 hours. We saw some kind of bird we think maybe a grouse? But we weren't sure. Not sure how well you can see it in the pictures. Hopefully John or mom will be able to tell us.
We were thinking of maybe staying another day and going up again but I was pretty sore from all the riding and I think maybe Randy was too. I would totally recommend doing this for anyone who likes to fourwheel. I can't wait to go again.
Oh and yes John those are pictures of cows. You know they are my favorite :) We actually didn't see anything else except a couple of squirrels.

Happy Birthday

Wishing a Happy Birthday to my wonderful mother-in-law Jackie.
I hope you had a great day.

Birthday Dinner for Randy

Last night we had a Birthday dinner for Randy at the Spaghetti Factory in Taylorsville.
Randy's parents, sister and her kids came. My mom and brother and his wife came. We had me and Randy and his kids. We had other stuff going on for his actual birthday so we had to wait to get everyone together. Everyone seemed to have a good time.
None of us said anything to the waiter about it but he saw his gifts sitting on the table and the staff came and sang Happy Birthday to him.
It is always nice to get together with family for any occasion.

Garrison & Sophie's 1st day of School

I was unable to get a pic of Garrison & Sophie until last night as they were not with us yesterday morning.
Sophie is starting the 5th grade. She said she likes her teacher and most of her friends are in her class. She seemed to be happy with everything so far. Hopefully that lasts all school year.
Garrison started the 7th grade this year. First year for Junior High. He said it was a good day. He has a locker next to his cousin Sierra and they also have a class together. He likes the fact that he gets out earlier then when he was in elementary school.

Erin's First Day of School

My baby is a offical Junior. Hard to believe that she only has two years left of school. She looks so beautiful. I am very proud of her.

Happy Birthday Randy

It is Randy's 46th birthday today. We have a makeup soccer game to go to so that is what we are doing for his birthday. Tuesday we are going to have a family dinner. Erin, Garrison and Sophie made him a cake and gave him some Utah Utes stuff earlier in the week since they were not going to be around on his birthday.

Randy I hope you have a great day and a wonderful year.

VARIAN COMPANY PARTY 8/7/2010

Randy's company had a summer party at the zoo last week. We could go anytime last Saturday but after 5 they closed down the zoo to only employees and their families. Randy, his kids and I went. My kids were at their dad's company party. We had dinner at the zoo. Hot dogs and Hamburgers and then we watched the bird show. Sophie was able to get her face painted.
The company had a raffle drawing but Randy and the kids didn't win anything. Randy got some great pics of the baby elephant. He also took a video of the giraffe having some fun. I have never seen the giraffes doing much of anything so that was cool.

Whew!!! What a Weekend

What a busy, busy weekend we had. Lots of stuff happening. Sophie had entered a contest at Randy's credit union and won Raging water tickets. She took some pictures with the nice camera she got for her birthday around the house and made a poster with it. Great Job Sophie.

Friday Randy and I had a soccer game. John was coming to sub so I called my mom to see if she wanted to come watch since she hadn't seen John play in a long time. We didn't win the game but Randy scored a goal. It was awesome. And when we got done playing we thought we were done but apparently our game for the next night had been changed to right after the first game. So my mom watched another game and my brother came and subbed again. It was so hot in the building it was hard to play. We lost that game too. Wish mom could have seen us win. On the way home we stopped at the Clinton Heritage days. Erin had entered into the chalk art drawing and we went to check out her work. I thought she did a great job. She said she was looking forward to doing it again next year.

Saturday morning the cement truck showed up to cement the driveway finally. I think it has been about a month that we have been waiting for it. We wanted to go to the parade but the kids wanted to put their handprints in the cement so we had to wait until they were ready for them to do that and then we went down and caught maybe the last 5 to 10 minutes of the parade. Later on in the day we all went over to the Clinton City Heritage days Carnival. Randy and the kids rode some rides (except Austin, he was at his dads) and then we all got something to eat. We hooked up with my brother and Rebecca and went over to the baseball field where we had brought blankets earlier in the day to watch the fireworks. We had a perfect spot. Nothing to obstruct our views and we could lay back on the hill and watch them. The were fantastic. I love fireworks.

Sunday I mowed the lawn while Randy and his kids worked on cleaning up from the cement being poured. Erin had to work. I went with my brother and mom to see my dad and then Randy, me and his kids went to dinner. I vegged the rest of the day but I think Randy went back out to do some more stuff in the yard.

Hope everyone else had a enjoyable weekend.

Back from Camping

Randy, me and his kids all went camping over the 4th of July. My kids were both working and didn't go with us. We took off on Thursday and got back on Monday late afternoon.

We got up to the camp site that we have used the last two years and no one was using it so we decided to stay there again. We had a little problem though. When Randy pulled in it was really wet and the truck got stuck. I think everyone was a little scared for a bit but Randy used his McGyver skills and got us out. He was really worn out from all the work he had to do to get us out so I just made something inside and we didn't have a camp fire that night.

Friday was windy most of the day and rainy off and on. I don't think I even left the trailer. Garrsion stayed inside most of the day too. Randy and Sophie went looking for frogs and found one but she let it go later. She also caught some tadpoles and let them go too. We did decide to have a camp fire and roasted marshmallows. I brought some strawberry marshmallows and they were really good.

Saturday the weather was better. Randy and Sophie decided to try floating on tubes in the river. Me and Garrison didn't want to get wet. It was driving Izzy crazy. She wanted to be with them but didn't want to get in the water. Garrison and Sophie drove the four-wheelers a bit and Randy and Garrison took a pretty long ride. Randy grilled dinner for us and we had a camp fire again.

Sunday Randy and I took a pretty long ride on the four-wheelers and then came back and got the kids and went for a even longer ride. I think we went about 40 miles. We were all so cold by the time we got back. We had left later in the day and didn't get back until after 8. We saw some snow up where we rode and we saw some deer. Everyone was too cold to have a campfire so we just stayed inside the trailer with the heater going.

Monday we got up and started packing everything up to go home. We were doing pretty good and were in Ogden on our way to fill the truck up with gas before going home when a truck pulled up next to us and let Randy know we had a blown tire on the trailer. So we had to stop on the side of the freeway while Randy changed the tire. Thankfully we were able to get home in time for me to make my soccer game that night.

Hope all my friends and family that are fathers had a wonderful day. Randy spent the day getting the yard ready for cement. We did go out to breakfast and he said I hit a home run with his gifts.

YIKES

So yesterday there was a Amber Alert for a little girl suspected of being taken by a hispanic man. There was a description of the car and a partial license plate given out. Well when Randy got home from work there was a undercover cop and a Clinton City policeman waiting for him. His car matched the description and his plate had 4 out of the 5 numbers on it that was given. They got his I.D. and asked where he had been all day. He gave them his work info and they said they would clear him. When I got home he told me the story and we had a good laugh.
Then about a hour later there is a knock on the door and it is more undercover officers from Salt Lake. They asked that Randy come outside and talk to them. I ran up to Erin's room so I could look out the window and see what was going on. They searched the car and took pictures of it and him in it. That seemed pretty scary. I was kinda freaking out so I know Randy must have been. He talked to them for quite a bit and then they looked like they were going to leave. But then one of the officers came back and asked to take Randy's picture again. Randy did but he wasn't sure whether he should have or not. The officer took his picture on the front steps like he was taking his mug shot. He said he was going to send it down for the witness to look at. YIKES. And can you imagine what our neighbors are thinking????
Anyway they finally left and we didn't hear from them again. Randy said he had a gut feeling they would show up at his work today. We shall see. Hopefully the whole thing is over now. I did tell him I didn't think he should drive the car for a couple weeks until the whole thing dies down or they find the real guy.

Austin's Explorer

Austin has acquired a used vehicle. It is a 1997 Ford Explorer. It runs on CNG and regular gas. Randy found it on eBay for him in New York. It didn't come quite as well taken care of as we hoped but Randy thinks he will be able to fix everything. He is so smart about that kind of stuff. The front driver's seat was really bad so Randy found some clothes seats and we all helped Austin take out all the old seats and put in the cloth seats today. It looks a lot better already. Hopefully soon it will be up and running and Austin can start saving money on gas.
